Hi all I feel a bit like I have got a second chance at bariartic surgery and want to get this right this time!
I am on fluids only for the next 7 days, "what ever I can suck through a straw" the surgeon said, although no guide to amounts or what!
So looking for any high protein ideas as reluctant to do slim fast I case of dumping as I am already suffering with the dreaded diarrhoea (sorry if tmi) and don't want to add to that!
Any thoughts?

Hey Claire

I've no advise re liquid diet but I'm interested to see others replies.
I'd like to wish you a speedy recovery and the very best with your new bypass. I'm having the same op in January. I hope it works !

-I used to boil up chicken thighs with carrots and onions. I would have the broth at that stage and freeze the chicken and veg for later stages.

-Make stew and have the juice, freeze the meat and veg for later.

I'm four months post-bypass. My liquids for the first two weeks were 125ml per hour (drunk over approx 15 mins) for 16 hrs per day. They were water, milk, tea, coffee, v dilute NAS squash or fruit juice, Options hot choc, Muller Light diluted with milk, Heinz cream of Tomato soup. I lived to tell the tale. Have lost 5stone - size 22/24 to 16/18. Very happy. Good luck x

I'm one month post op from Band to Bypass. I am still not allowed to sip with a straw. When on liquids I had sugar free ice pops which give 1/2 c fluid ( I was told that 1st few weeks dehydration is the big thing to avoid). And Isopure brand liquid protein, 40 g in a bottle And portion shakes. The goal was 60 g day of protein and 8 c water. Never reached the goals of both until 3 weeks out. Then moved on to soups with puréed beans. Into which I put protein powder ( just don't hear Above 140 degrees or the protein powder with clump icky. ).
