Hi everyone,
After a roughly 14 month wait..
My refferal has been updated and is now in the hands of a doctor who is reviewing refferals for my pct.
I have given such a fight,I,ve jumped through a hundred hoops.
And now for the answer !
My life has been on hold in so many ways.
Iam registered disabled and been using a stick.
I have severe sleep apnoea!
My bmi was 44,but now 1 year later my bmi is 45.
In my history of dieting I,ve been on starvation diets and also binged in the past.
Iam under a phychiatrist for anxiety and deppression and its because of these past problems,I was not operated on a year ago,as they wanted further reports regarding my unhinged past with food.
I then got stuck with all the newbie refferrals.
And if I hadnt written 20 letters to different people in my pct,who have come and gone.
I,d be quite surprised.:eek:
 
WLS would definitely improve alot of your problems. I had severe sleep apnea and joint pain, which I now have either due to the weight loss.

Doesn't every overweight person have an unhinged past with food? We've all over eaten, tried every diet (healthy or not), every diet pill (healthy or not). If we hadn't tried everything we would be told that we had to give more stuff a go before having the op! Sounds to me like you needed the op a year ago and have been messed around!

But I guess the trick is not to have an unhinged present or future! ;)

I hope very much that you get the decision you're hoping for. All that fighting deserves a good outcome.

so depressed now

I spoke to the lady who sorts out the refferals to ask for a out come and she pulled out some file and looked at my old refferal that had got no where and started repeating information from that negative result.

I said wait a minute you told me my application for special circumstances had gone off to a specialist bariatric reviewer and told me her name.

Now today she has no recollection of this and said she would have to pull out all the file,but she has 180 people to sort out and I,d just have to wait and hear back from gp.

Then I spoke to someone else who said there,s no money in the pot and I,d just have to hear back from my gp.

This is intolerable,14 months I,ve put up with this I,ve come this far and I will have to go to Belgium at this rate.:wave_cry:
 
Well here Iam still waiting! the woman in the pct told me the doctor takes 2 weeks to consider the re refferal.
I rang after 3 weeks and she had no knowledge of it or our conversation and said she is dealing with 85 other cases.

I had the number of her boss and rang him politely asking if I could find out any news,and he said I,d recieve a letter in a few days.

I recieved said letter explaining he was making an exception in sending the letter to me and my doctor,as they dont deal direct with the patient and it was just to let me know the reviewing doctor is on leave,any thing further to do with the pct must be directed through my own gp.

Im waiting and for gods sake I just want to be normal,and work and be healthy,its a bigger burden to NHS to remain in this way.

I can feel pressure on my organs from all the weight and thing are looking bleak.They the goverment kept all the problems financially from us and now the pot is empty,people are getting fatter and junk food is every where you look,and processed foods.

I hope you recieve good news...
have you asked your Doctor(or someone from the surgery) to chase the P.C.T ...

I just spoke to the woman at pals and now she has privvy to more information.
What I have been through I actually feel damaged.
My case has been through so many members of staff and they just keep leaving the pct and passing me on.

I dont think they will pass me even though its been to the special doctor.
I think they have a lot in my posistion at Bury pct.they are stopping lots of surgeries not just bariatrics,even the ones in the system.

I swear I want to sue them for leading me on for 2 years.
I,ve just got enough except travel for Belgium
I,ll have to sell my car though.

I recently heard of a case where the woman took them to court
I want to do this first Any legel help welcome
 
Just a thought, but could you not converse via email, that way you will have a record of what was said and when.
