BIG KIM

I am a *NEW* Man!
Thanks for sharing Kim... it does sound like a very extreme situation... thanks for posting... Bev xxx

I think this man is having a laugh. Ok i feel for himin one way that he can't eat but he asked for this surgery. He knew there were risks (even death.) I think the NHS saved his life and this is how he repays them. It will not help people waiting for funding either.
Plus this man was on 100k a year, i think he should have paid for his own surgery. He sounds like a selfish man, just my opinion xxx

£100,000 a year  why on earth was he using the NHS then? Surely he could have afforded a private op......i dont know if Im just being unkind but his story doesnt ring true to me....surely if you were suffering that much you would want to try for revision surgery??? Hmmmmmmmmmm I wonder! x

To be fair on him (which goes against the grain in this instance) he has said that the risk of more surgery is so high that there is a good chance he might die. I think that's why he chooses not to have the surgery. Also, I know he could probably have afforded to go private, but if he's being paid £100k a year, he'll have been paying a lot in tax and N.I. contributions. NHS or Private - it should still be a matter of choice. x

My mum read this article to me last week before I went for consultation. I suppose this just shows the other side of the coin and the risks and complications that can occur after surgery. I don't agree that with him saying he didn't know the risks, its probably one of the 1st things I asked. Afterall nobody goes into this lightly. I don't think he should be berated over not using his own money for surgery, I think everyone should be able to have it done on the NHS whether you earn 10k a year or 100k a year. We all pay our taxes! :)

has anyone on here gone into their surgery without having everything explained to them, the good and the bad? i bet not!!!
this man is an a****hole!!!!!!!!!
have you read some of the comments below the article.

Yeah thats true, I hadnt thought of it that way, the more he earned the more tax he would have paid. He would be just as entitled to NHS ops as any of us :D x

I've got no feelings about him having it on the NHS everyone has the right. He's worried about having a corrective op as his chances of dying are 1 in 4, i wonder whether he would still be alive if he hadn't had the surgery with the issues with mini strokes etc...
Sounds awful not to be eating ever again..but I can't believe he didn't know the risks

You think with that wage he would of bought a computer and maybe had a look at wls, he wont get anywhere claiming he didnt know the risks people die everyday though hosiptals making mistakes and how many of them win cases??? well on the up side he can afford some lovely new threads for his new shape.
