Did I have a Gastric Band?

Corey

longs to be average!
I am beginning to question if I actually did have a band fitted or did the Dr just make six cuts and sew me up again?

I have read all the posts on here, and heard what you guys went through, how it was a good week before you had a comfortable nights sleep, were constipated for 10 days before anything happened, or the pain caused by wind etc etc etc.

But here I am 3 days post op - slept through the night last night, and had moved around, I've been to the loo, had no real pain, just mild discomfort around the wounds, and have had no wind pain.

I have always been a reasonably quick healer, but this is friggin' ridiculous, I havn't really had any of the side effects associated with surgery. Don't get me wrong, I'm quiet happy not to have them, but it does make me feel somewhat a fraud!

I would say you had a great surgeon! I am 4 days post op and I am ok sleeping on my side, it is a little uncomfortable but I can bear it. My main pain came 2 days ago with the worst wind pain ever. I am much better now but bending down and picking up the kids is still difficult.

LOL corey enjoy it, its great to know that not everyone gets the after affects, and i slept through as soon as i got my own bed, just it was on my back and more uncofortable as a result. Early post op i also did not suffer from wind, i used the gripe water and drank mint tea anyway to ensure it did not occur

Its raining here so I'm glad I'm going back to work tomorrow. Have been driving since Friday, don't feel tired - so time to go back, booo!

Why not, sounds like a plan! have fun. I'm not going on a shopping splurge until I've lost more weight but I have seen the handbag I want for my birthday, OH better get saving ;)

Corey mazza and Soon to be thin, I hope mine is as quick healing as yours on Saturday!!

I can have the week off but I am going back on Thursday. I work form home when not traveling so should be ok.

Corey......just enjoy feeling the way you are. Not everyone is the same and to have a result like yours and maz is brill.
Babyjayne will be thinking of you on the 9th bet you are getting mixed emotions at the present time, but just think this time next week it will be done and you will probably be home!!

Love Jay xx

Hey Corey - Great news! I was just the same with the bypass.... guess we are just super lucky... sorry short message but competing with my one year old for the keyboard - - yoyo

Thanks fairy ring, but have a feeling I am going to have to postpone again as this cough is just as bad as ever!! The doctor says I have Trachitus (can't spell) and I have finished my antibiotics 2 x and still coughing.
I can't turn up on Saturday coughing and spluttering so am going to go back to docs in morning and ring the Surgeons secretary tomorrow to see if he wants me to postpone again.
I really am fed up as it is getting me down now...I thought I might of had swine flu at one stage!! but it isn't thank God.

So fingers crossed for me xx

I'm also wondering if I had a gastric band!

Hi Corey I'm so glad to have found your post. I had my band fitted last Thursday 21st May. Apart from a sore stomach and feeling a bit sick, yesterday I was able to clean the house (slowly) and was climbing the walls for something other than soup or yoghurt. I too am a good healer, but I am surprised at how little I feel different. I suppose if we went and ate a 3 course meal we'd soon realise we're bandits! Are you craving solid foods or are you already on them? Cheers Melficent

Hi Corey/Baby Jayne

I had Mr Sigjurdsson at Dolan Park. Also, I was surprised that they put in 4mls at the op. I feel fine - obviously, like others don't want pain and discomfort - but want to know it's going alright. I feel like I could tuck into anything without problems but I don't want to risk doing anything stupid and waste all that money. Cazbandy left a post saying that she approached it thus (Caz - hope I've quoted you correctly):
Day 1 - 3: liquids only
Day 4 - 7: mushy diet
Day 7: normal but with caution
I was nearly demented last night wanting proper food but managed to hold out. Don't really feel hungry however.
Cheers Mel:confused:
