Diet after Op Help

joanne7271

Shrink me please x
Hello, I am on the waiting list for a bypass at the moment but thought I was having a sleeve. It is such a big decision and I havent done much research into the bypass.

Can anyone help with the diet after the op, as in immediately and onwards so I know what to expect.

I am frightened I will miss all the foods I eat at the moment and am scared incase I do something that will burst the pouch etc. I know this may seem a bit dramatic but I am really worried and was interested in what people are eating at the different stages post op.

Thanks and I love reading all the stories on here xxx

P.S. how do you write all the details of weight loss etc on the end of your posts so they appear every time?

I'm confused as your title asks about gastric banding diet post op, but then your post mentions bypass or sleeve?

I thought I was getting a sleeve but after tests the consultant has recommended a gastric bypass. I havent done much research of the bypass so am a bit worried about the food side of it after I have had the operation (which hopefully will be soon).

Even silly things like what do you drink when you socialise

Changed thread name and moved to general section :D

Hi and welcome

I usually have orange juice when I'm out but get them to water it down for me.

Foodwise, there are somethings I can't eat but to be honest I don't miss them. For many people there is a physical change in hunger after the op. While I am finding cravings are beginning to come back, I have learnt to recognise what my body is telling me and can usually recognise when I've eaten my fill.

I'm almost 2 months out. I do miss things and it's hard but it's a sacrifice I was willing to make. I might be able to have them in future in small quantities, I might not but if I can have a baby following my bypass I would do anything.

I can't tolerate any amount of refined sugar, it makes me dump quickly, but everyone is different.

Good luck. Keep researching. I did lots!
