Different size band's what's it mean???????

Hi all wonder if anyone could explain why there are different size bands and what it mean's -I had a band fitted Monday and was told all 4 that were banded that day had been given large bands but the nurse said she didn't know why!!!!!

I don't know - I have a large band. Is it the size of stomach? Hope someone who knows about these things can answer it as I'm interested too! x

Sorry can't help you guys as im a bypasser but didnt want to read and run!
Just a thought, do you think it depends on how heavy you are? I certainly dont know but was wondering if the more you have got to lose the bigger the band for the fills?

Hi there,

My surgeon explained it like this, that the precise band size is determined by the size and thickness of the patient's stomach.

It's not to do with how much weight is needed to be lost, just anatomy

I have a 9ml band and when I went for my fill I was told that they always use 9ml bands in Sheffield.x
