hello ladies can some please tell me how long is this discomfort suppose gonna last!!!!! can i eat crackers????? this power ade zero aint hitting the spot!!!!!

I had a sleeve not a bypass and the 1st 2 weeks was purely clear liquid so please check with your provider about crackers, I know I couldn't.

It took a good few weeks to get the wind under control and get it moving properly so that I wasn't uncomfortable, keep moving round and drink peppermint tea that realy helped me move mine in the early days, you should find that each day does feel a bit better than the last one.

The early pain is largely to do with wind... where did you have your surgery (in the UK)?

If in doubt precious, I'd be talking to your team... many of us had deflatine, peppermint tea and tried to move around to ease this early wind pain... your body has had one heck of a shock and it's so understandable...

Love, hugs and keep us in touch. xxx

I had a bypass too, and if the pain is in your chest shoulder and neck its probably wind, try walking around to try and shift it but that does last about a week, if the pain is eleswhere then call your team. I had a pain on my right side and it was very painful but I was assured they dont operate this side so its nothing serious but I was put on tramadole but I didnt want to mask the problem until i was sure it was all ok. Get the reassurance you need from your team.

As for eating crackers that again depends on where you had your op I was on clear liquid for 2 days then liquids till the end of 2 weeks then i can goto mush but some can have mush on day 1. (not fair I know lol )I hope you are pain free soon

I could not have crackers until week 9 as you need to let your body heal properly on the inside. So you are slowly introducing food back to your pouch and your digestive system. I was on clear liquids for the first week and then thicker liquids - like homemade soups pureed and low fat custard. Take it easy and don't try and rush the food as it may affect your healing process. Good luck! Xxx
