Unfortunately I've been put in with the doctor that is really officious and curt :(

I still have the pain this morning but it is mild. Still I need to get in and explain how it was over the weekend.

I hope you can get some answers and relief from the doctor.

all the best

Keep us posted Karen and don't take any stupidity... you have been in pain and it needs sorting... love and hugs xxx

Good Luck Karen, don't let them bully you, Karen x

Hope your ok hun x

Okay!

He thinks I have gallstones and has referred me for a scan. He examined me and pressed just under my right ribs and I nearly shot through the ceiling with the pain.

HOWEVER .....

Apparently it could have been the steroid injection I had in my elbow for tennis elbow last week. Apparently the surge of steroid can cause acid pain to flare up. That was an eye opener. But he said to be sure we will get a scan done anyway and if it was just the injection things will resolve themselves soon.

In the meantime I have to keep a diary of each attack, how bad the pain is, how long it lasts and what I ate previous to the attack.

If it is gall bladder, try to avoid ANY fat in your food - I lived on baked potatoes and heinz beans followed by sorbet for about 3 months till my op, and it kept the pain at bay. Don't know if you can eat any of those - maybe not sorbet cos of the sugar - go for sugar free lollies xx

Well at least you have got somewhere Karen... I had to keep off all dairy items and fat content items too... the pain was unbelievable... so if you have to lose the gallbladder... you won't miss it... honestly & it was the simplest of ops in my experience and very straight forward keyhole day surgery... so I'm hoping it will be sorted for you once and for all ... xxx

Well at least you got some info from the GP, the scan will confirm if it is gallbladder or not. If it turns out to be the steroid at least you will have a check on your gallbladder aswellm so thats a bonus :D Hope your pain settles down soon hun XX

Hi Karen - Glad you got to see a doctor in the end!

I hope it resolves your pain problem once and for all, as its not pleasant being in constant pain. Hopefully you will get the scan/x-ray very soon and put your mind at rest once it is dealt with.

Take care hun x

Love and Best Wishes Kat x

Thanks everyone. I forgot to ask how long I would wait for the scan but it shouldn't be long I wouldn't think.

Mind you my sis in law was due to have her gallbladder removed end of this week after a 3 month wait. They phoned today and told her it wont be Friday and they will send a new date which will be sometime in January

Thats so annoying! I know sometimes its unavoidable but they dont seem to care that you make arrangements for partners to take time off work and child care etc. When my bypass was cancelled my hubby had already taken a weeks holiday and couldnt change it, then he had to take another week when I got the bypass which means he has no holidays left for over Christmas! So annoying! XX

Oh dear Karen I had gall stones and it is not nice so hope you get it sorted soon hun xxxxx
