Does anyone who haashad surgery have latent adult onset diabetes?

I was just wondering if anyone who has had surgery has LADA, latent adult onset autoimmune diabetes (not the type 2)?

A friend has this and we were wondering if it is also affected by surgery like type 2 is?

Are they insulin dependant or other meds or dietary control?

I would imagine weight loss could help but with a lot of things there is no 100 percent in pushing diabetes into remission.

they thought she had type 2 and only found out today its not. So not sure what treatment yet. Was just a ponderance. Her GP is being very unhelpful by just saying 'loose weight' and not actually helping.
