I have got lots of tingling pains - is this normal? some are painful twinges in my right side - can anyone advise?

very emotional too - wondering if i jumped in here - on the good side i am not hungry !!

I think lots of people wonder if they jumped in a bit quick. Think it's quite normal especially just after an aneasthetic and morphine etc. Give it a few more days and you'll know you did the right thing. You'll just wish you'd done it 10 years ago.

Glad you're home and recovering now. The pain and tingles you're feeling are the same as I experienced, still get a bit of discomfort around the drain site nearly 2 weeks out.

Take care and lots of rest.

Thanks Kate _ you live quite near me in carshalton too - i went to st anthonys for mine, am worried about the pain, thanks though for your sharing, i am worried that something may be wrong - you have helped.

Hi ya! I had a band but I also had pain, twinges, numbness in my legs as well as an overwhelming feeling of 'oh my god, what have I done'. But as the pain wore off so did most of the worry and doubt. It's so fresh for you right now and you have all the pain to remind you of it.
It will get better day by day. Xx

hi, nice to meet you, the painful tingling is the gas they pump into your body...it will take a few days to go... then once your bowel movements start that will help aswell xxx

Hi Debs. We had our ops on the same day. Sorry I haven't been in touch before to see how it went for you.

Sorry that you are suffering a bit, but please don't doubt that you did the right thing. I know that it seems so 'final', and all there seems to be on TV at the moment is food programmes! However, losing weight will give us such a better quality of life, and in my case at least, a life!

My nutritionist warned me that I may well get a bit depressed, but this will pass once I get onto proper food again, and see how much weight I'm losing!

Chin up, kid - it will get so much better!

Love, Liz xx

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all so much for your support, I am feeling a bit better now, the tingling and pain was mostly gas - phew it was worrying me, no pain now, just the odd twinge which is to be expected. I am still on liquids till tuesday - then on semi solids, not sure if scrambled egg counts as that but i am so craving it will have to give it a go.

the weight loss isnt as significant as i had hoped, but i have come this far, and have no choice but to stick with it, I do feel this was the only option left to me and do not regret it.

quite a few of us are at the same stage, it would be good to have a group for each level we are on, i find it a bit hard to keep up with things on here but find this forum so very useful - i never had any support before which is why i had to go private.

again thank you everyone for your support it is greatly appreciated.

Debs xx
