... How long was it after your bypass before you needed a number 2. I'm just a bit worried cos the last time I "moved my bowels" was Thursday. Is this normal?
I haven't been since the day before my surgery either. But I'm passing a lot of wind so that means my bowels are working properly. When my dad had his kidney out they wouldn't give him any food or let him go home until he had passed wind, because the digestive system often shuts down in shock during major surgery.
My doctor said the codeine they gave me probably bunged me up a bit. I'm not on any pain killers now.
Hi i didnt go for over a week when i had my opp and even now i only go once a week. if you got very little food inside you, you not going to poo very much. you ok if you ( and i love this word) fart. means you healing.xx
Worry not you will poo again, its hit and miss at first.I recently went two weeks with no poops then went as normal, not constipated or painful!Keep the fluids up.
I rang the hospital ward today cos I was still worried and I feel like I need to go but I can't, they said go to the doctor and get some laxatives but it is normal. I've got some fybogel do you think that would be ok to take?
I take movicol sachets as and when required, I hav found that as I can now drink more fluids it's having a positive affect on bowel movements. So try and get plenty liquids in x
