Driving and car insurance

My provider has advised no driving for 2 weeks. Is this what everyone else was advised.

Did anyone tell their insurance company that they had the op and did that make any difference to the time you had to wait before driving or anything else?

Thanks.

i was told 2 weeks too , but also to be able to turn to see behind you & do an emergency stop safely . when i rang my insurance co , they said do as your doctor has told you

I drove after 4 days (too soon) and again after 7 days. This was fine for me but everyone is different.

The hospital said it was ok to drive if I could wear a seat belt.

My Insurance co (Churchill) said that I was ok if My Dr said so...

He said it should be the Hospital say it was ok...

I was told 2 weeks, so I doesn't hurt if u need to do an emergency stop.

But I did drive to the docs the week after and was fine

Mine was same as Pandora. I rang my insurance company too.

I have covered school runs for 2 weeks so shouldn't need to drive anywhere. I just remember being stuck in my village for 6 weeks post c-section, that was hard!

Interruption to this broadcast to bring you a public service announcement

If the doctor says don't drive, don't drive, even if you feel OK. If you are involved in accident your insurance won't pay up regardless of the reason for it.

Yeah, I'm not intending to drive for the full 2 weeks I was just wondering what other people's advice was and what their insurance company had said.

I was told 10 days if I felt ok but checked with my insurers and they said as long as Surgeon ok with it they're ok with it
