driving

pmsl (again) at DC's helpful input! I was driving about a week after my op, but ask the advice of your provider and you could also ring your insurance company & ask them...sometimes they will be guided by the hospital, or other times they are happy for you to drive as long as you are able to do an emergency stop like Karen says xxx

Thats what i was going to say to jaqui lol xxxx

Its normally a week off for every hour of surgery. I was told no driving for two weeks

i was told when ever a emergency stop can be done confidently and safely x

I was back behind the wheel a week after surgery. no problems

ditto - which included six days in hospital.

not comfortable at all, but certainly do-able. I also drove myself and baby home after my caesarean, and another time with an untreated fractured arm.

some things you just have to get on with

With a band - the norm is around a week unless you are still uncomfortable. With a bypass I have no idea but as you are having a band it would be best to check with your provider or with your GP post op.

ok i was maybe a bit nawty ( some things never change :D )

had my op on the 1pm ish weds and i was driving friday morning by 10 am, had to get me mum some dying fish stuff as they were dropping like flys, Needless to say despite the additive stuff, they still carked it ( shall i smack my own wrists)

I was driving within a week after my bypass but was told to plan on two weeks.
