due to see mr small at sunderland tomorrow

Hi all, after months of hearing nothing I got a letter through a few weeks ago giving me a first appointment to see mr small at Sunderland Royal hospital tomorrow, which I should be ecstatic about but here's the catch, either I am the luckiest or unluckiest person in the world as after 5 years of unsuccessful trying to conceive I have recently found out that I will be exactly 4 months pregnant tomorrow, now the fear I had straight away is that if I phoned and told them i was pregnant I would be bumped off into obscurity never to be considered again and after fighting for this referral for over 18 months I just can't believe the timing of it all!

so point being I am in desperate need of advice do I phone tomorrow and tell them and risk getting cancelled or just go and tell them when I get there?

tell them when you get there , at least you can have all the info told to you and find out exactly what happens from here on in . And if you have to be removed and start again after babys here then at least you heard it from horses mouth so to speak x good luck with your baby x

thanks, thats what the hubby said, but my head's just so full of everything these days I couldn't think straight on what to do for the best

well its not like your taking up someone elses appointment its yours you have waited so long for it, if all you get from it is information thats going to be usefull to you in the future then thats more than you have now x

Hi Kitti and:welcome2: to minis. What timing eh lol. Congratulations on the pregnancy, you must be chuffed to bits. Right, if it was me in your situation I'd ring the hospital and explain whats happened.Ask them to put you back on the waiting list untill after the baby is born. This way some else will be able to have your appointments. Its not really going to be any more beneficial to you at this time to go to appointments. Some other minis may disagree but will be along soon to advise you.Good luck with the baby and I hope they will wait for you to do your op.

hi kitty if this your 1st appointment it will be a group meeting which is just an informative meeting about the proceedures thats all, if it is the group meeting i will be there as the after bander and my niece sarah as the after bypasser for any questions that anyone wants to ask, please still go as its very worth while and you can ask the surgeon anything also.

thanks to all, my appointment letter says it's for 5.52pm which i thought a bit of an odd time but it would makes sense if it were a group session i think i will definitely come along as after this long curiosity would kill the kitty lol

also kitty i forgot to mention that the waiting time from the 1st group meeting to your op date is 1 year so it should be fine, just tell them your situation and you will still be in the system for waiting your turn xxx

i dont know what you look like so you will have to come up to me and say lol im usually sat up the front with mr small and the dietician, mr small will explain who we are anyway, also me & sarah will be starting a patient led support group in september if you want to attend, i will explain a little more tommorrow about it to you in person.
