Hi, I am 1 week post sleeve surgery and I hav a pain in my ankle when I move my foot or touch it. My ankle is also swollen.

Silly thing to do but I have been trying to self diagnose......
according to the internet it sounds like a dvt... I am scared and dont know what to do.

Anyone had anything like this that turned out to be harmless?

I dont want to go to Drs yet in case I look like an idiot!!

Better looking like an idiot than like a corpse?? Please go get it looked at NOW!!!!!!!

do not wait, go straight to the hospital, make it clear you are 1 week post op. Friend of mines sister died exactly from this. go now.

Goodness...judging by the other responses I would go now!!

Good luck please let us know x

I had an odd pain in my right leg two weeks after bypass. I went to A&E,they were so understanding. I had blood tests which proved negative but they booked me for a scan a few weeks later to make sure. Again I was fortunate and I did not have a clot. I would go straight away. I had been worrying for a week before I went telling myself it was just muscular. I wish I'd gone sooner. No one will think you're an idiot. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the advice guys.
I have been to get checked out. They didnt laugh but said I did right for checking. I had an ultrasound on my leg and was examined by several people before they assured me it wasnt a clot. Prob done something to my ankle.
Still felt silly but glad I went xxx

Glad all was ok in the end :) I was a nervous wreck post op worrying about dvt lol every little twinge i stressed...........so please you got it checked you can never be too careful x x x

So pleased all went well. I have been wondering how you got on. You shouldn't feel silly. It's better to be safe. I know I was very relieved at my outcome as I have limited mobility and was paranoid about DVT.
