Bandy
I'm new to here, I have my date for my op on July 16th - G band. Any advice will be welcomed with my big fat arms!!

Hello and welcome, I had my band Sunday...feeling good. I'm going back to work tom. Don't get me wrong its not easy but as long as you follow your providers instructions and are determined and motivated you will be fine
:) good luck x

Thank you both. Are you in much pain? I have 6 days booked off work, I'm hoping that is enough. Keep me updated on how you are getting on :) x

I too had 6 nights off work and it was just the right amount of time for me. Am actually looking forward to going back tomorrow to a bit of normality! However I must stress we are all different and a few of the women done on the same day as me weren't even allowed home the next morn as they were poorly still. Just do exactly as you are told, all your bed exercises and walking around a few hrs after and I'm sure u will be fine x x

I am sure I will be fine :-}. Keep me informed of how you are doing xx

Will do, am getting a bit nervous about going back to work tonight....have told all my work mates what I had done tho and I know they will look after me. Will be thinking of you next week. Keep in touch x

Good luck for tonight :) I'm sure you will be fine and it sounds like you will be looked after x

How are you getting on? How was work? Xx

Hiya, yeah I'm feeling great....work was absolutely fine. The only thing that's different is I'm feeling more tired than normal, but I did used to be a bit of an energy drink addict! Am soooooo bored of this liquid diet tho! Can't wait till Sunday when I can treat myself to some mash! Lol. So when do u start ur pre op diet? What one have u got? X

Hi :) I start on Tuesday. They said I could do the low cal diet or the milk diet. Think I will give the milk diet ago, might as well get used to just having liquid!! Are you still tired? X

Wow you were lucky having the choice....I had to do the low cal one - I basically lived on sugar free jelly! Lol. I'm feeling absolutely fantastic at the mo, working 7 nights this week but feeling skinner by the day! Ha ha, have now lost 16lb so far and everyone keeps complimenting me on how well I look...no denying we all love an ego boost every now and then! Have been very naughty today tho...I drove the car (was told not to for 2 weeks after surgery but I'm only 3 days away from that) also couldn't physically eat anymore soup so had some mash....it was heaven! I made sure it was really runny and I ate very slowly, just couldn't wait 3 more days....do feel a bit guilty now tho! X

Wow you have lost 16 pounds already!! Well done! I am sure having a bit of mushy food will be fine, like you say you only have 3 days to go. I got told I could probably drive after 3 days??? Do you feel hungry at all? That's worrying me that I'm going to hungry until the first fill xx

Hiya, I didn't feel hungry for first week ish but this week (2nd wk) I def do, its really not easy when ur tummy is rumbling but home made soup really is the best cure, its so low in cals compared to tinned soup. And as for driving that's a strange one...I wouldn't have felt ready after 3 days but we all heal differently, see how u feel at the time maybe x x

#kas# big welcome! 16 July is my two year surgiversary, and having the band was one of the best decisions I have ever made....I got to my target in less than ten months am over 150lbs down and maintaining. You will get lots of support and encouragement on here, as well as the odd kick up the backside / oops ... bit of constructive feedback if someone feels it appropriate  the band is a great tool, but it does need you to work with it, rather than totally rely on it. But as in life, we can choose to follow the rules or not ... Best of luck. Just throw your questions at us :)

Really recommend this site for help and advice no matter what stage or procedure your at!

Welcome

Thank you Flutterby! Wow 10 months, that's amazing!!! Well done. For some strange reason I am no longer nervous but excited, I just want it done now! I start my pre op diet on Tuesday and I can't wait. I know it's going to be a hard slog but it will be worth it :) I hope I do as well as you xx

Thank you Sleevegirl :) x
