Energy Levels

Afternoon all

I was just wondering when people energy levels started to return after surgery?

I'm 2 weeks post op, so I don't expect miracles but I can only be out an hour at a time and I'm exhausted, jelly legs etc....

Is this a combination of the body getting use to less calories and having had surgery/healing or does everyone feel low on energy for a long time due to lack of calories?

Any experiences shared would be much appreciated x

my lack of energy turned out to be a vitamin deficiency only discovered when I developed head to toe pins & needles........since then I only feel lethargic when I'm not doing anything

I brought this up with my dietitian about 4 months post op as I was still real tired in the evenings and post exercise I needed a snooze! She advised that it can take several months and she was right. Only now, seven months post op am I not constantly pooped!

I had my bypass on 21st Nov, I went Xmas shopping on 15th December thinking I felt fine but after 2 shops I was done in, I was fine at home but out and about was a different matter, not really sure how long it was before I got back to "normal" but I know I didn't push things :)

Oh God, I don't wanna be so energyless 7 months out :/ I may as well just gave stayes fat!

I'm 4 months post op as of today and despite all my bloods being fine I was really struggling with energy and felt like a zombie until 2 week's ago when I started taking feroglobin iron B12 capsules. I can't recommend them enough - it took 10 days before I felt a difference but now I almost have fat bubbly Stacey bubbles again but with less fat! It's on 3 for 2 at Boots at the moment and super easy to swallow.

Thanks Stacey, think I'll order some along with some zinc! How long did you give it before you swallowed tablets?

I've just ordered strong zinc and b12 tablets from Holland and Barrett!!
