Just t0 let y0u kn0w i have received my first c0nsultant app0intment and guess what its the same day as y0u pink lady, the 21st December. What time is y0ur app0intment at? Mine is in the m0rning.

D0es anyb0dy kn0w what t0 expect fr0m this app0intment? I am s00000000 excited!
 
Hello,

I had my first appointment there on 29th November. I went and seen the dietician, Zoe, she asked me a few questions and then weighed me. I then went to wait to see Mr Decadt. When I got in to see him, he asked me a series of questions, examined my tummy and then went through the procedure along with all the risks etc. He was a nice man.:)

I then had to wait for my surgery date, which I got by pestering the poor Amy in admissions. 30th January is the day! Amy advised me that I have a further 2 appointments prior to this. 1 to see the dietician in more detail and go through the diet, also thats the pre-op appointment too. Then I have another 4 days before surgery to see the weight clinic, to check I have been doing the liver shrink diet correctly and that everything is ok for the op. ;)
I live in St Helens so its a bit of a trek keep ging to Macclesfield, I a bit annoyed at how many times they got me going and feel that 2 appointments prior would have been suffice, but I can't complain as I am getting my life changing operation that I have waited 15 months for!!!!!:D:D

Who is your surgeon?

My appointment at spire is in the morning too at 11.15am. Are you nervous? I'm excited and nervous as still in back of mind I feel the surgeon is going to reject me :-( I hope not as I've jumped through hoops for over 2 years on the weight management course and diabetes xpert course.
I'm taking my mum with me for support. Let me know what time you're there and maybe we will see eachother? X

I f0r g0t t0 say I am nerv0us t0. I have had really bad mental health pr0blems which ended up in a h0spital admissi0n earlier this year and I am scared that they will reject me 0n this basis.

We are both actually in very similar positions as I too suffer with bad mental health problems. I've been hospitalised on several occasions and my last admission was in February.
I have also 2 comorbidities, diabetes and asthma both controlled by medication. Hoping to reduce both meds if surgery is granted :)
Hope I get to meet up with you tomorrow as we will probably arrive early. But if we don't please keep intouch and good luck

i have just had my first appointment at spire murrayfield,
wirral, and it was the same as fizzwoods,
got my second appointment on the 10th jan,
so should hear about my opp date soon after that. xxxx
 
It's a YES!! The DR from the Spire he SAY YES :) :)
Had my first appointment with Dr Decadt at Spire today and it went really well. I've been accepted for the bypass :)
Hopefully will be done sometime in February. I had lost another 4 kilos too :) still some more to loose and then of course the pre op diet. But great news all round.
It's made my Christmas xx

I've not heard anything yet, but I am going to ring Amy at spire next week just to see when the next appt will be. Are you going to the support group on the 11th 6.30-8.30 at the spire? Hope to meet you again soon Hun, stay intouch x
 
I'm having my op at spire macc I've got my funding just waitin for letter to go see them ;) I'm so excited x

No Hun in from Crewe but Macc is the closest wls hosp ;) x
