Hey guys i had my appointment today with the diectican and lets just things didnt go well. I had an appointment in February and there was a conmunication problem:confused: Anway to cut a long story short when i saw her today she check my weight and i gained:( But she was compairing with what i weighed over 6 months ago:( She's now telling me that she has to go back to the board today to see if my op can still go ahead:(
Really dont know what to do now she's given me the information sheet to start the milk diet, which i have said i will start that tnite which i have:)
Dont know what im going to do if its postponed, it doesnt bare thinking about at the mo struggling with everyday life now more than ever:((

Sharon:sigh:

If i was you I would just concentrate on hitting the ground running with the Milk diet. You cant change the past, only affect the future....

I went privately so I am not too clued up on the rules of "if you have gained" but I am sure one of the NHSers will be along soon to help....

Keep positive though and keep the end goal in sight :) xxx

Im sure it was but you will have alot more positive shocks when you stand on the scales once you get on track, you will be shocked how the weight drops off and off and stays off :)

Stick with the milk, i know it will be hard but like anything worth having, it will be worth it in the end :) xxxxx

Yeah thats what im trying to think about now:) Just hoping she doesnt phone tommorrow cause then it will mean everything is going ahead for 17th got my fingers crossed:)

Sharon:)

Hi your op days my birthday! i'm sure things will be ok, i was nhs and put on 2 stone prior to my op, good luck xxx

Thanks for that Lisa (thats my daughters name to) I put on a stone and half since the weight in february, just very worried cause the diectician says theres a possibilty it might not go ahead:((

Sharon

aww love sorry your appoinment was a stressfull one x i was told if i put over half a stone on id be put back on the waiting list , some are more stricter than others , hopefully all will be fine x

Hiya,

I was NHS and gained 2kg between first apt and pre-op and I think as long as you do okay on the milk diet you'll be ok. 6 months is a really long time for them to compare over.

Hope it's all ok

x

I don't have any advice to offer, just wanted to give you some support. The truth is if we could maintain weight loss over 6 months, lots of us would not want the surgery! So, I hope that you don't get discouraged, just commit to the milk diet 100% and think positive thoughts.

Wishing you well,
Nic;)

Hope it all works out for you hun;):D

Hey CC try to ignore what was said and focus on the milk diet. I dont think he/she is in a position to actually get the op cancelled, they do however like to show their disappointment in you by making you feel even more crapola than you did in the first place by frightening you. I personally think its quite cruel and goes against a caring ethos but hey ho. I can hear the dissapointed 'youve let me down. youve let yourself down' tone of voice grrhhhhhhh. Do they not realise the self loathing and termoil each of us goes through when we are obese and fail!

I cant say for certain but it sounds like a last minute frightener to get you to actually conform to the milk diet. I was on the milk diet for 2 weeks pre op and lost a whopping 22lbs on it.......it shut them up!

I was told the same thing as you, I had gained too, hardly surprising being as I waited over 2 yrs!

Just make sure you stick to the milk diet, good luck and take care Xx

I also put on weight between dietician appointments and did not know why I did it. All they did was say that they would see me again. I have since seen them and lost more weight and now on the list for surgery.

I think they just like to see your committed. Try not to worry about it, I know that is a lot easier said than done.

Just start again and stick to the pre-op diet and I am sure they will be a happy with that.

Do let us know how you get on.

Goodluck on your apps sure it will be fine try not stress which is easy said than done i know.

Nic just noticed you ticker you've only got a few more pounds till your goal fantastic

xx

I have nothing to add hun as I dont knw the rules - I just wanted to wish you luck and support with the milk diet x

Hi, l&d can be a bit sh**y at times.
I had a letter go astray when the postal strike was on, so i missed an app. After my telling off every thing is back on track and they didn't mention it again.
Just do the milk diet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck. Sue

hi - i put on weight on my last appointment before i went on to the milk - i gained 10lb and was told not to worry and do the milk diet and shift it... well most know on here i found the milk diet really hard coz i was so sure that i wouldnt lose it and my op wud be cancelled! etc etc anyway i cheated lots and still lost 1stone 4 - i had my op on the 25th november and have lost 19lb since :D i had some complications after but none with the op - i had a allergic reaction and then caught aload of infections! yuk! but im on the road now and think alot of what they say is to scare you. dont give them any more reason to cancel. its up to your surgeon in the end and as long as you show commitment with the milk theres no need you wont go ahead :D good luck xx

AAwwww guys thanks very much for your kinds words of support. Just popped on to let you guys know how things went.
As you will all be aware that i was waiting for a phone call on friday. You will be pleased to know that i had no phone call which i am delighted over, as she says if she didnt phone then take it as a go for 17th. So yyaaaay.
She did however put me on a strict milk diet for the 2 weeks prior to surgery. What i would like to know is what do they put you through it the emotional upset i went through ggggrrrrrrr.
My diet consists of 4 pints of milk per day, 2 oxo cubes and 2 litres of water a day thats it:(((
Im soooooooo hungry but bring it on:)

Sharon

You,l soon be moo-ing
I was dreading the milk diet more than surgery but once you,ve got a few days under your belt it gets easier.. remember eyes on the prize and keep your chin up
