Hi Paula!

Sorry you are feeling low today. How is it all going...did you have a bypass? . I have my 1st consultation on the 14th Sept and have been to seminar.

It's probably hard but keep focused on all the changes you will start to see. Maybe write a list of make a pin board of all the things you would like to do...I did it with my dad yesterday bless him and put stuff like horse riding, go karting and paint balling!

Why you feeling down? can you pin point it or is it just a general feeling? If you look at my past my old threads you will see I had the same problem at about 4 weeks post op. I had an argument with my dad but that was just the trigger, it seem to open up a flood gate of emotions. I had some excellent advice from people further down the line that told me about how that our fat cells forming their own hormonal system and as they break down they flood our bodies with extra hormones. This can make us feel really emotional. Plus factor in you are still recovering from a major op (I'd say it take about 8 weeks until you are fully recovered) and a major life change then it's really going to be tough on the brain. I always felt it very difficult to cope with these emotions because I had to feel them, rather than just eat them away. It's really hard to deal with that at first, just have to go with them rather than fight them and it's hard to learn the new way of processing things. The good news it all gets easier and better! Your body recovers, you learn to over come with your emotions much easier than you would have thought and your hormones settle back down to normal. All this along with the effects of weight loss that you will start noticing more and more each day and you will soon feel really good. So give your self a break and if you can have some me time. This adjustment is difficult so allow yourself to feel it, wallow in it for a bit and then get ready as it's about to get really good :) xx

It is a strange time and your body is recovering, get out in the fresh air a smuch as you can, meet up with friends and family, treat yourself to something new, go tothe pictures, sometimes its the realisation of the enormity of whta we have done n what our lives will be like fromthis day on with our eating regime. It can be tough on the mind changing ther ways we used to think, we think we were prepared but it cna hit us all of a sudden you take care keep busy xx
