Feeling tbe cold ao much ??

Hi Andiebee,
I am only 5 weeks off but have also started to feel the cold. Mind you, it is a change from feeling hot all the time, which I hated.
Your are on the early days of post op/recovery period. You are probably eating very little and I think that might be the reason for feeling cold.
Keep warm and wish you speedy recovery from the op.

Yep 16 months out. Always frozen! Particularly hands and feet xx

Not just me then lol, I am doing so so well no pains no problems tried so many foods different veg and meats cheeses and yogurts and never dumped at all , my hospital Sunderland royal what films the Sunderland weight loss ward don't let you start off on liquids it's pureed stage straight away so having about 4 tablespoons of food each meal and 2 snacks such as 1 cheese triangle and 1 yogurt inbetween the meals and x2 1/3 of a pints of skimmed milk a day all on my diet sheet plus tablespoon of fruit pureed in with yogurt , I am so lucky never dumped, vomited etc touch wood as of yet with any food , I have lost 4 stone so far 2 pre op on own 1 stone on milk liver reduction diet and another stone since operation so maybe feeling it more seen as I haven't got my extra fat stores on any more maybe ?

That's me Nicola hands and feet lol I am like a moaning old woman atm hahaha got heating on full and loving my onsie again hahah xxxxx

3 years out and still cold all the time. Invest in some thermal vests and welly socks. I keep mine on till at least the end of May.

I always was a cold person, strange with all the blubber around me, but now its even worse, I have the heating on all the time, my o/h sits in shorts, on the bed I've always had a 14 tog feather duvet even in summer when i was over 21 st, now I have a 14tog an 8 tog, a heavy fleece blanket and I wear thick pj's, and usually the bedding is doubled onto me as o/h doesnt want his

I was once told by my dietican that once I lose a whole heap of weight I will start to always feel the cold, boy she was not wrong! 8 stone post WLS ,12 stone altogether I have taken to wearing 2 pairs of socks , a wolly hat even 2 cardigans and gloves!
My bed has 2 extra blankets on it !

I am so glad it's not just me! I am 3 weeks post op and I am constantly cold. My hands and feet are really bad. It's driving my hubby mad, I was always hot before, we never had the heating on and windows were always open....now the heating on full blast and I go round shutting the windows!!

Wow lol so I have to get used to it hahahah. I have only lost 4 and a half stone and a stone of that is off the bypass 2 weeks and the rest off pre opp diet and target weight loss etc, it's mad isn't it I must buy some warmer clothes lol x

Yep, another one here that is always cold and I can't stand it. I'm so glad it's spring and things are starting to warm up a little but my feet and hands seem to be cold all year round. Makes me wonder if it is my circulation but I never felt cold before my op. Lots of fat to keep me warm and I started to feel the cold pretty early on. It's a bit of a running joke with my partner as I always warm my hands and feet on him. Especially at bed time lol. Luckily he is a warm person so that helps. He always says to me, cold hands, warm heart. Which is sweet. I don't have any thermals but he has given me one of his fleeces and I wear that under my coat and if I'm really cold I will wear pj bottoms under my trousers lol It's a bit rubbish at times but I would still rather be chilly than 26 stone again

Being almost 5 years since my bypass...I've always been cold ever since this op.
Obviously when I was big we had extra fat layers...now when I can't warm up I've been known to take a couple of baths a day to warm up.
My feet can be like ice blocks so I have to wear 2 pairs of socks...and it can be quite painful when they are extremely cold.
As a previous member mentioned I wondered if it's a circulation thing now.
