Hiya :) oh gawd its that time of year again! I know many of you have dogs and that many of them are terrified. This is what I did when I had dogs. I gave them some Nytol. Its safe as its a herbal sleeping aid.My dogs just went to sleep for the night and woke up bright and early the next day :) Marvelous :D
Hope all your animals are safe this year :) xxx

This is our first Bonfire night without our little dog, Oliver  He was always terrified of the noise & would spend the night on one of our knees, trembling ... wish I had known this earlier to have benefited him xxx :wave_cry:

Poor old Oscar is now deaf - so he does`nt hear them thank goodness, he used to be really nervous when he was younger and sit on my lap all evening for so many days!

Really feel for the poor animals that are frightened!

My sons family have just rescued 2 kittens from the RSPCA and as they`re still too young they arn`t allowed out for another couple of weeks.....hope they are all coping!

Love Kat x

bless :( all those wild animals must suffer terribly :(

I have 4 that don't bother, one who barks at the bangs and Mia hides and shakes but is happy to have treats and a hug.

Mine just look up the sky ...

My dobie couldn't give a hoot, the lurcher sleeps through it, the parrots copy the crackling noise ( very annoying), and the guinea pigs are easily distracted with half a head of lettuce......sorted

My boy is petrified but my little girl couldnt care less. I really do hate this time of year coz from the end of Oct to at least New Year this is what we have around here!!!!

Little Josie likes to go outside through the dog flap and bark at the fireworks so I have to lock the dog flap to keep her safe indoors. There is an organised display tonight so it is going to be very loud and very long. Poor little pooch I wish I head read this thread earlier while the shops were still open so I could have got some Nytol. I will deffo get some for next year though so thanks for the tip :)

My dad's dog is utterly terrified of them :-( He's a spaniel, so a bit crazy at the best of times. We usually combat it by closing the curtains and putting the TV up loud but wish I'd read this earlier as the Nytol sounds a great idea!

So wish I had of got my dog something he was only weeks old this time last year so didn't really notice them but this year he has been pacing and barking non stop for over 3 hours and still going. Ar well I will know for next year :( x x x

I took mine outside one year so she could see what the noise was, now when she hears it she just look up the ski. Hth

well its been a nightmare tonight. My boy hasnt stopped panted and pacing up and down since 6.30pm the last firework went off at 12.30am. I am so tired that I just cant sleep. Think this has been the worst that I have ever seen him. The littlun kept going over to him and kissing his face. I had a DAP diffuser plugged in in the lounge and 1 by their bed. My git of a husband has shouted at him. I was so angry with him I couldnt speak to him. So there is me and 2 dogs on a single bed. Not going to be a lot of sleep for me tonight but they are snoring their little heads off!!!!

I'm like everybody else. I really feel for all the wild animals out there who dont have 'family' for cuddles and comfort and I especially feel for things like frogs and hedgehogs.
My wizzy isnt frightened of fireworks, although he is the first and only dog I have ever had who hasnt been frightened of them. I think it is because I took him walking during the fireworks the in his first year and he now associates them with having a nice time. If I am not walking him he sleeps right through them.
ps, I also feel for horses and cows and sheep in fields too who don't know what the heck is going on.
