Got date for first appointment today at Homerton. Ok so it's not until October but it gives me something to work towards and at least I'm on my way.
Hi good luck I'm too waiting for my first appointment, how long dis you wait from gp referral to first appointment please.
I have just got my 1st appointment yay!! Although its not until 7th Nov at Royal Bournemouth Hosp told over the phone and letter with details will arrive in post. I was very lucky that I rang them to see if they got referral after two weeks to find no referral sent from GP. So I got intouch with surgery who assured me had been sent to find it hadn't so I asked for letter to be faxed. Then I left it until late afternoon then rang hospital who said they had received referral and I would get answer in a week which I have. I must say the hospital have been very friendly and helpful and it their suggestion to have surgery fax it through! Are there any of RBH that can tell me what took place on their 1st visit? I don't know if the letter will explain everything or just appointment details. So excited to be on the 1st run of the ladder :0)
It's exciting isn't it I'm just waiting for my first appointment, I have spoke to someone though who is said at the first appointment you go for the day and see a nurse, dietician, consulton and a group session but that's at homerton in London so don't know if it differs at different hospitals. Good luck with first appointment x
that will be good if you only have to wait 18 wks, hope I don't have to wait long I get so impatient xI have received the letter today, the appointment is with Bariatric Nurse Group Session to see Nurse Practitioner for a 2hour appointment has anyone been to one of these sessions at Bournemouth. It also said on the back 18 week from referral to treatment target

Hi everyone!
Hope you don't mind me gate crashing!
When you talk about waiting for first appointment are you referring to the Tier 3 weight management programme?? If so I'm also at this stage pretty much- had my first appointment 5wks ago with nutritionalist, then had psychologist assessment about 3 wks ago, and got 2nd appointment with nutritionalist tomorrow at 2pm. I am in Southampton.
I am just desperate to know if I'm going to be offered surgery at the end of it!! I'm 130kg and BMI IS 46.
Would love to keep in contact with some people at a similar stage as me and to share experiences etc! Xx
Hello I already did a weight management in my local area so my doc referred me for surgery so waiting for my first appointment for that and you should be offered surgery as long as your bmi is over 40 and you've done a weight management plan good luck x x
