First day on solids

and all i managed was ritz crackers. How pathetic is that. I feel that i'm scared to move to solids in case they get stuck. It may sound ridiculous, it certainly does to me but since i havent had solid food in 6 weeks it feels foreign to me now.:confused:

It will take a while to get used to, for the first few days when I could go on more solid foods, I found I was still eating softer mashier foods. I really had to go out and do a special shop purely thinking of those crunchier foods which I need to work with the band and to fill me up. . . but it takes a while to get used to it . . .but you will get there Im sure :)

My first day too. I have made some cauliflower cheese as I was told by my provider I can have anything you can cut with a fork. Not having a lot of joy with it at the moment

Totally understand how you feel I am on the liquid stage but not sure I will ever eat solid food again as terrified of stuckage slippage and pain! One step at a time and I am sure you and I will get there!

Mashed potatoes in soup is nice and easy for the first few days :) Then maybe got onto stuff like really tender stews and more hearty soups.

i've done the liquids and mush stage, i'm now on the proper solid food, but still not fancying anything as all the solids i used to eat are no go now, such as rice, bread, meats. Really want to have rice but have to wait until december.

I tried rice quite early on into my 'normal' food stage and was ok, didnt have much and chewed well. Give it a try, dont eat too much, chew, and pause between mouthfulls and see how you get on!
xx

im having, ryvita, salmon, fish, salads, veg, turkey mince, jackets, new potatos, cereal bars.

Plenty of choice I think.

Your tastes will change but this is it now for life so you need to find foods you enjoy as well as tolerate x
