first soup after surgery

Hi all,

I had my op this time yesterday. Now I'm having clear soup. I'm half way down it now, am I supposed to stop, is it supposed to hurt, should I feel full????

I'm petrified of a bowl of soup - bonkers

Can someone help me? x x x x x x

Hello love, I was the same... just sip it slowly... it didn't hurt me and I was so surprised at how easily it went down.

Sip it Angel and Enjoy!

Love and hugs xxx

Claire, I had half a tin of the ww size soup and had half for lunch and saved half for the first two weeks...

No need to have too much... and drink loads of water love.

Hi maz,

I'm ok. Scared im not doing all the right things. U spend months/years wanting your op here, now I want it to be a few weeks from now. I just don't want to fo anything wrong to my new insides.

Thank you for all your kind words yesterday x x x x x

You won't feel as full on soups as you do on solids. Remember the way out of your stomach is basically just a tube, there isn't a valve there like in a normal stomach, so liquids can just pass straight through. As you go on to thicker soups and purée you will notice a difference, and with normal food a big difference. It's normal to panic when you realise you can eat a lot of soup but you just need to realise it is all down to our new plumbing.
