Hi guys I'm sherry and I'm 2 weeks post op
Gastric band. I've been on puréed diet since day 4 and apart from slight aches and pains Im doing well?!
I have a question ... Does anyone feel particularly hungry ? I'm starting to feel as if I could eat more ( not as much as did before surgery ) but I'm definitely hungry sometimes ... I can't wait for my fill as I don't feel Im losing enough weight .. Only about 8lbs since surgery . I could really do with some advice .. Thanks guys !

hello and welcome sherry34
I cant help but I know that someone will swing by very soon ,in the meantime well done on your new life and keep on losing!

Hi sherry, don't forget that your still healing from your surgery. I'm sure that you will lose more quickly in the next few weeks.
Also you will feel hungry whilst on puréed food. It will be better when you go on solids properly, you are at a really difficult time as you will want to move through the stages more quickly than you should. Unfortunately it's just a case of getting through it! Good luck xxx

Thank you ladies so much ! I am still in the " yet to see this work for me " stage as I've dieted all my life and nothing's really worked so far ! ?
This surgery was a massive deal for me and I just don't want to fail yet again.. I'm really glad I found this forum as its great to relate to people who know exactly what your talking about !
Thanks again guys and I will keep U posted on my progress Im still trying to find my way around here so no tracker yet!? but I'm working on it.

Your hunger will kick in again in the first few weeks as you begin to heal. We all experience this. It's a case of hanging on right now until your first fill and maybe beyond until you get to your own sweet spot of restriction xxxx remember you have this tool for life now. You will get there babe

Good luck xx

Thanks for the support guys!
I had a really bad experience today .. Had some weetabix and I must have subconsciously gobbled it dwn as I usually did forgetting to pace myself .. And I thought I was about to die!!!!!.....????? IT wasn't funny at the time as I was in tears !! Damn thing got stuck and I almost called the ambulance .. Id never do that again!
So much to learn but each experience teaches a lesson I guess .. ???

oh gaud hunni that's no fun :( remember to take it slowly, even the sloppy stuff.... take your time especially now, let it settle back down again, as your sure to have inflamed your tum..... sip lots of fluids and if it remains unsettled call your team if your worried.

YOur hunger will come back, in fact come back with vengeance but don't make the mistake of eating something you shouldn't keep following the rules....these few weeks are tough now, very much mind over matter....hang on in there ....once your fills start it will get easier :)

Anyway huun welcome to a fab friendly site ...your in the best place for tons of support and info x x x wishing you speedy recovery and some brilliant losses x x xx don't stress the weight until you back to 'normal' foods x x

try downloading a timer to help with the slow eating.... it helped me tons in the early days :)
Eat slowly or eat slower I think the apps called or just a timer on your phone will help
