Flabber-tone anyone?

Hi all, has anyone been on the flabbertone machines? My sister went on one at the sunbed shop, three stages of shaking to death for £3.00.
You can only do 10 mins at a time apparently.
She went on twice in the same week and lost 2lb, she isnt overweight and isnt on a diet.
I'm just wondering if its too severe for us, all that shaking my fat might make my band 'ping off' lol.
My sister raved about the machine and said she felt like she'd done a full day in the gym.

Any experiences?

They are good... I'm pre op... but suffer with a lot of pain so use the toning tables since I can't use a gym yet...

The shaker machines are in the same room, I sit on them sometimes if I feel able or stand... and they are good.

I am feeling much more toned and wish I could do a session every day if I were well enough...

They seem to work and you can see the whole of your flab shaking away... I have noticed loads of successful visitors to these machines and they say that ten minutes on this machine is like a ten mile run!

Don't know about using them with the band... I would certainly check it out first, you do get a vigorous shake....

For pre opers reading this, it's a good way of feeling better before our ops... that is why I try to have a go on my better days...

Please let us know when you have taken advice, maybe from your bariatric team as it's an interesting point... I think the machines are also known as toning plates or power fit machines...

Good luck and very best wishes xxx

Bypassers definately can't ive been told

Did you use them before your bypass?
It's understandable since they give you one heck of a vigorous shake...
I think you have to complete a medical questionnaire where I go to....
Is there a recommended exercise for bypassers...
I'm hoping to be able to get into swimming more post op...
I keep trying!

Haha... that's just what I need! xxx

I'm signing up for it in my gym come pay day...its a 15 minute session and they give you a new 'routine' 6 times in the year for it for the princely sum of £30 for the year. The band should be fine as its stitched into place so i don't see it pinging out and taking an eye out :D

why can't bypassers use them?

I've been told they are fine to use post bypass! My surgeon did not use staples though as he hand sews everything - maybe that makes a difference!

I could understand that your external incisions may have been hand sewn, but there is no way that your pouch could be made without the double-barrelled staple gun. That uses titanium staples to ensure they stay put and in one piece.

I was definately told by my surgeon that everything is hand sewn plus glued, thats what he told me, no staples, honestly!

Allie had the same surgeon and we were discussing this the other day at our Scottish meet. She said that he told her he likes to sew everything by hand because it stops him getting bored! LOL!

Hi all,

They had one of these machines on loan at the Spire on the fun day last Saturday. I wasn't allowed to use it because I have hypertension, a bad back and joint problems, so be careful and check with an expert who knows about the machine before using it.

However, those who used it felt as if they had had a great workout. Some of them said they still felt as if they were shaking after the session.

Are these the same as the power plates?

I was wondering about using these also as they're supposed to be good.

On Another note, I thought Mr Ammori used the staples first and then stitched last just for something to do. Hopefully Allie will come along later and put us right LOL.

Thanks for the replies everyone, i'm deffinately going to give it a blast as i've only lost 30lb since having my band fitted a year ago.
Good luck everyone 'shakin your ass' xx
