My GP got the funding before she even sent me to my first meeting. I had to wait about 6 weeks for the outcome, but glad its been done this way instead of me going through everything the past year and getting a no. Im on the 18 weeks waiting list now. I should have op Feb 2011. hows your GP done yours hun? x
i dont know when my funding was applied for, or who actually applied for it, i just know it was there, when i asked prof ammori at one of my appointments, he said, you WILL be having your op dont worry about it. everyone else there seemed to be worrying about getting theirs, so i dont know, i guess i was just extremely lucky.
hi..
My G.p had to ask the P.C.T before I could be refereed to hospital,...but I am Northamptonshire P.C.T.(it took two weeks)
Endocrinologists and other specialist Drs can apply for you too. x x x
I am Derby - my GP applied for funding direct to PCT. She said that the rules had recently changed. I was refused at first, but I appealed and got it. I have comorbidity, and thats what got it for me. They are being very strict now. I see that your BMI is over 50, so I hope you are successful Lin

I applied for my own funding with a little help from a friend, and got a call from the chap who signs the cheques to say i have funding and a letter of confirmation will be in the post that happened May i think , had my first consultation on 21st July and surgery in 16 days time xx
Thanks Linski, its just a matter of pestering them i think, i phoned them 3 times a week after my first appointment, that maybe a bit excessive but i did not want to forget about me ! I must admit i am getting impatient now just want it over and done with, i am doing the POLISh diet but food is actually turning my stomach now, i think it has finally hit how much food i have ate in my life time. I wish you the best of luck for yours xx
