Anyone else in the same boat as me? Been almost a year since I was referred, just waiting on my op date

I was bypassed early October at St James, by Mr Sarela.

Took me 18 months in total, worth the wait though, good luck x

I started at 22 1/2 stones from referral, from seeing Mary O'Cane in June 2012 and up to my operation in October 2013 I lost 6 stones and a bit by myself, since my bypass I've lost another 2 1/2 stones. It's not been a walk in the park it's a big adjustment, but yeah worth it, have you had your pre-op assessment?

Wow well done you, yeah I had my pre-op on 28th oct, had my letter saying I'm on waiting list so just waiting for my date . I've done loads of research on it, it's not going to be easy but I want to be able to run around with my 17 month old, something I never did with my daughter, she's 14 now

hiya im not leeds but just next door Bradford bri.ive waited 10 month and only gone on waiting list 2 weeks ago.i rang them and they informed me that a guidline of 18 weeks.so just waiting.im same I have got everything.and done loads and loads of research.this I a great site for info.everyone is very helpful.we will get there.take care

I had my op in February and my son turned 15 in October so I lost many years with him but making up for it now

Ah lovely, I just can't wait to get my life bk on track, I know the op isn't just the answer and I need to work with it, it's going to be worth it tho x

Yeah pretty much the same reason for me, I don't regret a second of it, even at my lowest.

You'll be fine, I went home the day after my surgery, and have had very little pain, it's the waiting that's the worst bit x

Yeah, waiting is a pain! Hopefully over soon tho, just want to see the start of it all happening x

The waiting is painful!!! I was told they would let me know my surgery date in the coming days-that was two weeks ago! Then yesterday she said she would let me know tomorrow but it's 5 o' clock now so I have fingers crossed that I will get a date tomorrow!
