Getting Drunk?

Evening All,
I have'nt had a drink yet but was wondering does it affect you differently after the op. Basically, will it be cheap to get pissed!!

I have to say that although I've not drunk loads, being over Christmas I did have the odd glass of red wine and last week having the mother of all colds I had a shot of whiskey (for medicinal purposes of course) and it didn't make the slightest bit of difference to me. I'm beginning to think I havn't actually had a bypass at all

LOL.... Had to giggle..... Here, pissed means angry. I was told when and if I decide to try it, I should be art home in case it makes me sick. Or also to see how it effects me while in in a safe place

It depends what context u use it in here cos it means angry or drunk lol! Xx

I have noticed a difference but I can certainly still drink a fair whack! Make my vodka n diet coke in a pint glass at home to ensure plenty of ice and room for a spoon! And I suffer with hangovers now, could be my age mind xx

Yeah, I've been told that carbonated drinks are a no-no. I also read somewhere (probably on this forum!) that, even if you stir away all the fizz, it can come back in your stomach and be very uncomfortable.

I haven't had any alcohol since my op (over 6 weeks ago), as I'm trying to lose weight as quickly as I can, but I have been told that, when I do, I will be a cheap date!!

I'm willing to give up the fizzy stuff forever. I'm sure I'll be too scared of stretching out my pouch. I'm probably going to drink a lot of it the next two days.... I start my liquid diet on Monday! I don't drink much alcohol at all, but I'm sure I'll have that again down the road! My Dr said to stay home when you first try it in case you dump and also to make sure you're safe if you get drunk too easily. Good luck to you! I look forward to hearing your progress!

i used to drink pints of bitter ( as you can see from the photo ) i went to darts match on Thursday and had two pints ...................... of water

ive been worrie about what im gonna drink after my opp i have jack daniels and coke been told i will never be able to have coke again is that true!!!!!!

well i had 2 glasses of vodka and diet redbull (stirred 4 about half an hour 2 knock fizz out lol).....took me 4hrs 2 drink them but i reali enjoyed the small tipple and i wasnt drunk and didnt have any bad side effects and im only 17days post op. id def advise 1st drinks 2 b tried in house tho. not sure wat i will drink wen it comes 2 1st official nyt out tho as 2hrs per vodbull isnt very practical lol.
