Getting Nervous

Hi everyone,

I'm Joanne and have joined the Forum as I will be having my gastric band on Wednesday and even though my family and friends have been amazing and supportive, none of them really know how it feels or what I will be going through.

Never been any good at this "hi, I'm joanne....' sort of stuff so will just say I hope I find, and can provide, inspiration here as I start the rest of my life.

It is great that you have the support of family and friends. Some of my friends were not that supportive, they thought I took the easy way out. Now that I am size 12 coming down from size 24, it is such a good feeling. Please bear the goal in mind, as this is what is going to keep you going when you reach any bumps in the road. Just enjoy and embrace the moments now and don't have any last minute large meals...etc

Hi Joanne and welcome

I am 10 days post band op and this place has been a fab place of support for me as so few people know in real life. Apart from my son, only one other family member knows about my band so I understand that feeling of not having people around who understand

I was banded yesterday and like you have alot of supportive family etc but I have to say this is a great site for help from people that have first hand experience
