Can i ask a daft question... Im still pre op so im very much still daft about this but who decides your goal weight.... what happens when you reach it as in do you carry on loosing or eat differently?
Your goal weight is set by you. You can get guideline from your surgeon like 70% of your excess weight. You total excess weight is calculated from your BMI, here is a link to the BOSPA BMI calculator: BOSPA - The British Obesity Surgery Patient Association.
My first goal weight was to lose 70% of my excess weight, then my next goal was to reach a BMI of 25 to be at a healthy weight, when I passed that I set my final goal for a BMI of 22 so I could be right in the middle of a healthy BMI range. It is up to you but you should discuss it with your bariatric team.
