Just seeing sky new's about Obese Patients Being Denied Weight Loss Ops and the Comments to the story box at the bottom it just get's to me there are people on there saying like

( I think people should have the right to say where their Taxes and NI contributions should be spent. Why should I pay the above so a fat person can have an operation because they have greedy guts. I'd rather my Taxes went to the children of Haiti who are starving. )

it just f**king me right off and theres more it's ok for people that are smoke's, alcoholic's, druggy's, they have op's for new hearts, new kidney's, new lung's ect ect so why can we !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chill man/woman.... It's always the same old same old. Who gives a stuff if George Best has a new liver? He aint fat is he?

Just let the ignoramus waffle on and chill back and wait for your surgery and your new life xxx

I posted a comment on the Times website regarding obesity surgery that goes wrong, and got called 'fatty' and told to get some trainers! I'm not complaining about him, because I think it helps when the ignorant raise their hands.

lol ya

I have worked all my adult life and have no complaint about my money going towards sufferers of anorexia.

Eating disorders work both ways!

But I guess people like that haven't the intelligence to work that one out.

Totally agree with all the above, Smokers and alcoholics cost the NHS Millions every year, and most Liver transplant patients revert straight back to drinking, but somehow, it's always the overweight that get the bad press. Grrrrrrr

Yep we all pay taxes one way or another, and anyway why should immigrants be able to bring family over to use our nhs,and before anyone jumps down my throat I have Polish relatives but wouldnt expect them to get help on nhs either.I read today that from April the cost of a visitors visa is tripling to stop EU visitors using nhs.

We are the 'bete noir' of the millenium. Air france are now charging obese passengers extra for using another seat. Now they are trying to keep us land locked!!!

We get it all ways don't we..... I was told today I would have to use annual leave if I have surgery as it is non essential and/or life threatening.... so upset. Still might not get funding anyway... I have been told my bmi is not high enough before now. I would struggle to walk if i put on any more as I am uncomfortable enough now as it is.... not everyone is ignorant, but the ignorant one's seem to be the one's we allow to hurt us.

i agree 100% who give a stuff wot ignorant twats thinks,, its my taxes too !!!!!!

Unfortunately there are many people out there who are just plain ignorant and nasty. I too pay taxes and contributions, many hundreds of pounds a month in fact!... and I have never received nor claimed anything from the state or NHS, so why couldn't my op have been funded through the thousands in taxes I have paid over the years? Rather than having to fork out yet again more money because the health service I contribute to would rather pay for alcohol and drug treatment etc. and continue to treat those that choose to contribute nothing!
It seems that the ignorant people that leave comments such as those that were on that site, seem to be under the illusion that larger people sit at home eating themselves into misery all day and make no contribution to society, therefore we aren't entitled.... well they are sorely mis-informed and it really makes my blood boil!

Opinions are like a**holes, everyone's got one, I respect that.. But, the problem is, these comments I am reading on papers, lack a total understanding of what obese people go through. We should be applauded that we are actually doing something about our weight and not ridiculed. Both fat and thin people pay taxes, so why shouldn't a person get help from NHS if they want to. Why does being fat make someone a less worthy person than a skinny person? Why? Stupid.

Some people think they are perfect, so my conclusion is that people who criticize behind a computer are usually the ones with the problem. Not us. Let them. This should make us all the more focused on our weight loss journey.

(sorry if this post sounds a bit angry but the comments I read online on sky, times etc really made me mad).

If there was no obese people who would they pick on.
Sue (tax payer for 40 years).

Well my opinion is........I've paid into the system and my NI contributions for almost 30 years, so now I'm getting a return on my investment! It is frustrating though how narrow minded and petty people cn be......

Totally agree. It is discrimination.

Hi,

I honestly think that media companies and the like love to put stories out about obesity because they know that we can't fight back. Nobody takes obesity seriously or the reasons behind it. It's the same as at school if a skinny person gets bullied it's bullying, horrendous, despicable. If a fat person gets bullied it's a bit of harmlous teasing, your being too emotional, your being too touchy, you need to laugh at yourself more and lighten up.

We wont ever be understood or change peoples minds and ive given up trying.

Take Care
