One month on from my balloon being removed and not a peep from SRH...

I was told they were supposed to process you quickly following removal in case the weight comes back on!

I am 9 & 1/2 weeks post op and was told on discharge I'd be seen in clinic in 6 weeks! Only 3 & 1/2 weeks late up to now, and still no word at all....

Its not just me then? :wave_cry:

Think we need to make some phone calls!

I got my six week check up letter yesterday for oct 15th, I had a sleeve on 25th August do I think that's just over six weeks (had op at srh).

I don't know whether this is because there were a few complications with my op - I'm still not sure what happened! They said I stopped breathing and I was in recovery a long time. I also had some tube with blood coming in to me when I woke up so I have no idea what that was all about either! Keen to find out, morbidly!

Have been ok since, very very tired though. On plus side I've lost 18lbs since op :)

Excellent weight loss Julia - well done; and I hope you've recovered from your op.

I phoned yesterday and the letter from my appointment on 20th August has been prepared but not yet typed up. Was told it shouldn't be too much longer though. Crikey - I'd get the sack if it took me 4 weeks to draft and type a letter. Dread to think how long it will take to go to one side of the hospital to the other once it is typed. ;-)

Thanks novamay! I worry because some days I feel hungry and others I don't feel hungry at all, but it's definitely coming off. Op has taken a bit longer than I hoped to recover from. I'm about 2 1/2 weeks post op and still really tired, it's definitely took it out of me. I hoped to be back at work by now but my doctor gave me a note for another two weeks, so I guess I need the rest.

Four weeks to write a letter?! That's nuts but at the same time I'm not that surprised! :)!

Hi Julia - just you rest and take as long as you need before going back to work - if its anything like where I work you wont get any thanks for going back anytime too soon!

I had originally thought I'd be able to take my time before going back, but think I'll need to get back as soon as possible as we're going through a restructure at the moment and possibly another review in December-time once the October changes have had chance to settle! If I have my op late Oct-mid Nov time then I'm going to be bang on December for time off! Which means, if I have to go back to my substantive post in December, I'll start with sick leave (great!) - also my substantive isnt where I left it - its been moved to a new team in a new location, doing something I've not done before.

well light the tikki torches, pass me a hula skirt and I'll see how low I can go....

I'm officially in limbo!
