After a really positive day at my follow up appointment with surgeon and dietician who are really happy with my progress to date, I go and get an attack of the 'rabid dogs' tonight with chicken and I've had it so many times before.

Ooohh you poor thing, its so horrible isnt it?
I spoke to my dietician about it last week and he says it is normal for after bypass and it is always caused by either: eating too fast: eating too large pieces or not chewing enough. I must admit the times I can remember when its happened to me I have been distracted whilst eating and I could have done any one of those things! Hope you feel better (HUG) XX

Awww Beth, I'm thinking of you precious, and hope there is a way around this in the longer term... thinking of you and willing you on your way... love and hugs always Beth xxx

what exactly is this rabid dogs sydrome? like dumping?

im not bad ta beth - dunt sound too good! im going to have to get used to eating slowly and chewing properly me, i can sit down with a meal and not even kno im eating me - im the same with drink too tho - gulp gulp gulp, lol i need to start training myself a recon!
other than that how you finding it? do you miss food? how much you lsot up to now?

Keeley ... well, had my appointment today with Mr Ahmed and the Dietician and they were really please said I've lost 41.8% of my excess weight that's just under 5 stone I think. I try not to weigh myself at home in case I get wound up by it. But clothes show it and friends tell me how well I'm doing. The only time I do feel hungry is tea time and that's the worse time for knowing if I am full or not as I can't really tell sometimes until it's too late. Beth

sounds like your doing excellently then! wow! your nearly at 50% you shud take some pics to show us you at nearly half way xxxx you must be really pleased with your progress! xxx
i rung derby the other day just to confirm i am actually on the list lol and they said waiting list has slowed down because of ppl with swine flu needing the beds, i bet its may time when i have mine - 6 months is up in march! cant come fast enough!

I think i have this one sussed. Last week i had a small fail i stopped on my way home from work and and a small fish. I've been craving one for weeks. anyway i stood at the side of my motorbike and started slowley eating my fish. However having to attention span of a teapot i soon started looking round and forgot to chew to destruction The trip home was interesting to say the least rabid dog on a motorbike is not for the faint harted i can tell you. Anyway i have since found that if yous start eating small pieces and chewing to mush and take a small pause inbetween it allows the trapped air to move up and as long as you take a pause if you feel a bit windy it help a lot. Unfortunatley if your like me and get distracted by passing cloudes you may have to eat in a locked roon with blinds on the windows to concentrate on this . All i know is when i manage it it works for me i hope this helps
Al

Goodness, it's not two minutes since you rang me from your hospital bed Beth... and you've lost all of that weight!

Very well done Angel xxx
