I'm back. I've completely written off all of June and two weeks of July - that's 6 weeks if my life I'm never getting back!

I've had my gallbladder out. Spent 2 weeks in hospital. Now I have I have a third op on 30th July and then finally I can focus on my bypass.

** I've got my date - 15th September **

I thought I was going to be taken Off the list completely when all this trouble started with gall bladder pain and pancreatitis etc but I'm back on track, on the mend and now back on the list.

Yeay!

Thrilled you have a date x

I thought it was game over for the surgery. However, all the messy bits have been taken care of (or chopped out) and I'm glad to be focused on getting my seat on that losers bench after all.

It's a shame they couldn't do the bypass the same time as taking out your gallbladder - would've saved you a surgery!
Good you've got your days though, something positive to focus on :)

My Gall Bladder was packed full of stones and stuck to both my liver and something else so the surgeons who looked at the ERCP results and the scans said it was too risky to leave it in. Further risks were that because it was so bad that if there were any future complications i.e. a stone left behind or a repair it would mean full open surgery as the bypass makes the area inacessible once complete.

Plus I had to have it taken out immediately as it had caused my spleen to become enlarged, I had pancreatitis, my liver was showing signs of stress and already had a temporary stent in my bile duct while they assessed what was to be done. That stent is to come out at the end of this month and be replaced with a perm one and possibly a drain. Not looking forward to that but it's getting me a step closer to the losers bench.

But.............. It's done, I feel much better and I'm back on track and focussed on getting through the last hurdle at the end of the month and then roll on September 15th Yeay!

Thanks. I can't wait. I've even set a reminder in my phone for starting the dreaded liver diet and a reminder for the surgery - every day it tells me how many days and hours I have left to wait.
