Got some questions

I've got 1 Fast tab left and my gp has prescribed capsules although I asked for fast tabs at 8 days out is it ok to take the capsules?

The physio at the hospital told me not to do anything that used abdominal muscles like pulling a washing out of the machine and hanging it up. How soon can I do this?

When did everyone start driving again? I'm going stir crazy.

hun its ok to take the capsules... i have capsules fom my gp... after all they are still multiviatamins and do the same job x

Heaby lifting hun needs to wait fr at least 3 months as you can still cause a hernia.... ok to carry shopping etc after 6 weeks... but lifting a washing machine... please wait.. as you are still healing inside x

i couldnt drive for 6 weeks as was poorly.. but also my insurance company would not insure me for 6 weeks after op. sme people can drive after 2 weeks.... 2 tings to do.... 1 check your insuance company to see when you can drive legally after a major op... and 2 if you feel that the steering wheel is hurting you and will hurt if you do an emergency stop.. best wait until you are confortable.

i hope i have helped in some way xx

I have already pulled washing out of my machine. I just crouched down instead of bending into it. And I don't pack it too tight x

I drove for the first time after 10days the few miles up to the next town wandered the supermarket with hubby & let him drive home as I'd had enough didn't drive again for a week or so & again not far to start with, mainly cos hubby had the car for work. As has been said check your insurance & when you feel you can drive safely & execute an emergency stop safely & without pain.

I know how you feel - was going stir crazy so at 2 weeks a did a small amount of sweeping of the leaves in the garden...and well see my album of the wound - it went pop, so be very careful. It's so easy to feel so well that we want to do stuff - really it's a good 4 weeks really xx

That's taught me!! I won't be overdoing anything!!!

i totaly agree you have to be so very carefull with your wounds for the first few weeks even when you get you staples out you should still take care. xxx

When ever I did too much I got a pain bit like a stitch when youv been running, I used to go to bed fro the afternoon and the night and used to be better the next day its hard not to do the usual things we always do. Sick to death at folks shouting no you cantdo that was pleased to go back to work. xx

Mine look glued. Did anyone else have glued??

I had deep suture, then some glue and steristrips...the outside had healed fab - it burst from in inside out!

Hope mine is the same :D Thanks xxx

Mine are stapled. Getting them out today woohoo

Will ask when I'm there about the washing although I could get the boy to pull it out of machine and into basket for me,

My poor hubby is exhausted working 10 hours then straight out to hospital to visit his dad then home to have tea and do housework.

I just want to take some of the load off him

It will be tough on him but, i bet its no worse than what we used to do when our kids were little, just men aren't very good at multi tasking, mine is good really just they like to be martyrs sometimes as well but we still greatful and love them to bits, they also know how to make us feel guilty without saying too much. i'm sure your hubby is wonderful to i know there are some that aren't xx just make sure, you, recuperate or you'll be no good to any body got to put yourself first doesn't happen very often. xx
take care xx

Its not the wounds on the outside you should be worrying about,if they are dry they are healing fine.
Its inside that takes time to heal and start to work in a new way,it takes weeks to settle so go with the flow and dont be impatient!Major surgery folks, just cos its not evident on the outside!

I hear ya. From Oonions story yesterday I know I am going to try harder to not think I an superwoman lol

I'm glued too. No prob what so ever. Looked a bit moist for the first 2 days but now it fully dry and i was told to take off the plasters. All look very nice and clean. Cant even see the smallest wound now. Its just been 2 weeks. By the way, time is flowing by very quickly now a days. May be because i am going to bed early and waking up late lol
