Grazing

I am grazing all the time at the moment and steadily gaining weight as I can't exercise as I've hurt my knee so it's partly boredom and partly because I'm nervous about the op although completely sure it's the right decision, I wish I could stop opening cupboards and the fridge searching for something I don't even know what half the time. I hope these bad habits will break once I can't graze away!

Hi Hun, I'm with you on that. I'm pre op and cannot stop eating. It's ridiculous. I think it's because I'm an emotional eater. I eat when I'm sad, happy, excited, peed off.

So we are bound to be having lots of different thoughts at the moment.

I've had a word with myself and going to look for other ways to deal with it ready for my op.

It does worry you though and I'm so glad you put this thread. At least you are not alone xx

I hate to disappoint you but you can graze with all WlS so try and knock it on the head or snack on good things to get ready.

Thanks for the advice tealovingsleever. I will start making my list of good snacks to have. You've done amazing. Just seen your pics. You are an inspiration young lady xx

Aww thank you! I am no angel btw I just know that snacking on th wrong stuff gets your calorie way up! I am now trying to have fruit usually clementines as they are lovely and sweet and mini packs of cheese like mini babybel. I also have chocolate when i want it but have mini green & black's bars and just stick to one.

Good luck with your surgery, i'm sure you'll be fab! xx

I'm with Victoria on this. Knowing that I can but shouldn't graze once I have surgery I have very much geared my present eating habits to almost parallel that of someone who has had a bypass so that I am prepared for the big change. Granted my meal time portion sizes are a little bit bigger than bypassers but it is the usual high protein low carb. I do this because I need my head to be in the right place and knowing that to gain weight could well jeopardise my "gift horse" chance of surgery ;) x

Thanks for the advice girls - this is what I really need to change about myself before the op! x

I would agree with all of the above. Grazing is the guaranteed way to beat your ops. It is the reason why many people regain - so nows the time to learn ways to deal with it. Good luck!
