haitus hernia

has anybody whos had a bypass also had a hiatus hernia pre op. did the surgeon fix it or just leave it. this is why im having a bypass on the 23rd of this month instead of a band.

I have a large hiatus hernia but didn't have it fixed when I had my bypass as the surgeon said there was no point making things more complicated. If it becomes a problem later on then he will do it. I have to say though since my bypass I've not had any problems with reflux or pain whatsoever

Did not know about the hernia until I had the endoscopy, since then it has been uncomfortable. I am sure the procedure activated it as I felt ok before. Mr Smart said he would check it on the op table in September! x

I have a hiatus hernia too and there has been no mention of doing anything to it during bypass X

I have a hiatus hernia which my surgeon Mr Super is going the repair when I have my band fitted in 11 days.
