I'm almost 4 weeks post bypass and have had no problems so far but today have tummy ache and struggling to have anything just feel a bit off. This may be a daft question could this be trapped wind have thankfully not suffered with if as yet so it's quite an unfamiliar feeling for me. Any advice would be much appreciated x

It could be, do you eat fast or drink in gulps? In can be as simple as that or it could be constipation? Drink plenty of water, sipping regularly, try peppermint tea settles things down a bit. Do you feel like something is stuck , sometimes i hav had pain when things have been stuck either just at the top or when they are entering the bowel, flush it through, either way. Good luck hope you ok xx

Thanks def not constipated having plenty of fluids normally it's eased off now so possibly it was the forceval playing up might stick to liquids today just in case xx

What about weetabix can you have that with your m,ilk so you getting your protein will just slide down nicely and shouldnt give you problems? xx

Well they shouldn't hurt you i have had bad tummy aches from time to time sometimes it is just wind sometimes just feels like it can't make it through the tubes, just a game of trial and error to watch and see if you can attach the pain to anything you have eaten, i tried crumpets the other night they were stuck all night long didn't feel ok till the morning, and i'm 9 month out now, so i sympathise with ya. xx

I woke with trapped wind similar pain to the IBS pain pre-op massaged stomach, sucked a extra strong mint, eased some, sitting on loo didn't work so gave in & took IBS meds, eased enough to sleep woke again around 6am went to the loo as wind shifting down meant I needed to be there feel much better for it.
As to what caused it not sure sometime stress triggers IBS type attacks other times perhaps it's a build up if I've eaten to fast. It's all part of the learning curve. Hope you're feeling better.

Yes I'm feeling much better had 5 days where I have managed to maintain a good food and liquid intake think I'm finding it easier being in work full time xx
