Hi guys. I had my bypass four weeks today too. Have lost 8kg since op day, and am now no longer morbidly obese. Was size 22/24 now buying 18/20. Start solids tomorrow (Wednesday). Big-d - I sometimes feel a bit spacey too, and I just remind myself how few kcals I'm on. Great chatting x

Welcome and well done all x

I'm a couple of weeks short of 6 months since my op and am 1lb off a 6 stone loss.

It's definitely been worth it, enjoy your new adventures on the 'way down' xx

Wow that does sound like something for the rest of us to look forward to! Just puts it back into perspective doesn't it? On my 4th week now and its been an emotional/psychological roller coaster (that's not mentioning my stomach lol). How was your first month? Any good tips? Xxx

eight weeks post op, as food has increased dizzy spells have gone, but its still a struggle to eat at all. Good luck

Hi l am nearly 2 weeks post op (bypass), and have had no problems so far. Start purée stage on Sunday.

Hi all, I'm on week 13 post op Gastric bypass and my loss so far is 80lbs today.
24lbs before and the rest since the op. 90lbs to go.

I have had no trouble at all, one thing I will say is when you start eating real food make sure you eat slowly. The only thing I have had is being sick about 5 times after eating to quickly on about weeks 7, 8 and 9 till I got into the habit of eating slowly and making sure to leave 30 seconds before putting the next mouth full in. Small amounts chew well and wait 30 seconds at least.

There isn't much I can't eat, too much cheese make me feel ill (dumping syndrome) I think. I can eat small amounts grated on things and ham goes down in a lump. Everything else seems ok.

Good luck on your journey.
Xxx

Hi and welcome. It's been three months since my GastricBypass surgery and I have lost about three stone. It's definitely worth it. Now feeling great, but I agree, you need to eat slowly.

Hi everyone. That's me 6.5 weeks post op and I'm down 16kg since op day. 58 in total since referral. Feeling great. Been sick a few times when eating too quick but sort from that its all good. Come off shift on Monday night for a week and will start trying normal food then. Any tips for normal foods to try first?

Best of luck to you all.

Try just a few mouthfuls to start with, chicken for me can still be a problem, two years out, but all the advice u need is chew chew chew, if you don't you will soon know about it. :)

I found things like Carrs cheese melts and ryvetas with cream cheese good, small amounts of meat , early on I found lean corned beef the best cus it's already ground up. Bananas are good early on as that are soft, potatoes only if you make a meal more meat and veg less potato's. I still find ham to stringy to eat. Make me feel sick. It might be psychological but the throughout if ham yuk. Maybe tinned ham would be ok cus it's ground up. Don't know never had it. I found cherry tomatoes and chopped up callers ok too. Maybe after week 10 or 11. Stick to east things on weeks 8 and 9. Gradually introduce food and you'll soon see what suits you. Best of luck. X
