Hi

I am just starting out on my journey and looking forward to connecting with this lovely community.
I have reached my heaviest at 20.8stones, and have decided enough is enough.
I've spoken to my doctor and been warned of the waiting times so my lovely mum is paying for the procedure for me.
I see the consultant next week about a bypass.
Just wondered for those of you who have gone private which company did you use? I contacted a couple but then went direct to the surgeon, anyone else done this ?

i am a bander but went with Healthier Weight, they do bypasses tho and have been wonderful pre, during and post op

After care has been really good and there are several people I know who have recently had bypasses and have had good experiences too

I had my band fitted on Tuesday by The Hospital Group - I'm recovering extremely well and my experience has been very positive so far.

Thank you everyone I'm so pleased I found this forum and am enjoying reading everyone's journeys.
I'm so excited about seeing the consultant next week (husband can't understand why I'm excited tho!). I started off wanting the band, mainly because of the cost, but after research I'm now thinking the extra cost for the bypass is worth it - obviously checking what the consultant thinks.
I am going to PRH Telford and seeing mr sigurdsson, mainly because its local and he removed my gallbladder years back. Anyone else had this done at Telford ?
