Hello I am new as well all very confusing, doesn't take much for me im afraid haha. I am 5 days post gastric bypass and i just joined to get some tips and information to help me on my weight loss journey

Thanks ooowh not long then I have been working towards this for a while, however from dr woodcock saying yes and provisionally booking a date for me, it all happened really quickly 2 weeks give or take, I went straight onto the liver reduction diet and then in for surgery.

That's really great to hear, things seem to be moving a lot more quickly since then agreed to put me forward for funding, only took 2weeks for them to say yes.

Ahhh it will be here in no time do u have an idea of what type of surgery you would like ?

Yeah I'm hoping for gastric bypass think its the best option for me.

I had my op at 1.30pm on the 3rd and i was home by 6.30pm on the 4th of july. I would have been earlier but they do this blood test trial at my hospital for the blood thinning injections for afterwards. So not long at all. I drank water and had 4 teaspoons of yoghurt in hospital they are then happy for u to go on to puree foods more or less straight away. My wounds aren't that painful its the trapped wind that's uncomfortable but that's subsiding now and Iam feeling a little better in myself today. I felt a bit sorry for myself 2 days post but its early days and my nurse rang and said that it is abso normal feeling I thought about the band but i didn't like the idea of a port and also i need the restriction of the bypass as i could eat big portions

So not to long in the hospital for you, that's the bit i'm not so keen on I hate sleeping in hospital, but it's a small step to better life, hope your feeling better.

yeh not long at all, yeh hospital wasn't great it was to noisy but I am a week post op and I am feeling better than I did last week. So things can only get better
