Hi... Happy new year to you all! ?
I have my band op on Thursday... I haven't smoked for 3 weeks (providers orders!!) and on the 3rd day of my pre- op diet- life is a little tough at the moment... But I know it will be worth it! Just wondering has any had their op with Dr Audun Sigurdsson?

Thank you sarahrob.... Kinda had no choice and had to do it cold turkey as they don't allow any nicotine... So no patches either :-/

Welcome, it's a good incentive to give up and to have it as a wonderful health benefit as you move to lose weight, it's almost 5 years since I gave up.

Just to say day 3/4 of the pre-op diet is when a lot of people find it to be the hardest, often with headaches, tiredness and sonetimes nausea, but hang in there, it does get better but it's all worth it in the end

We will soon be welcoming you to banded life - my band has changed mine

those feelings are natural - I put off having my surgery for over 7 years due to my fear of anaesthetic, but before then I also know I wouldn't have been in the right frame of mind for such a big lifestyle change.

It isn't always easy, and the band is a great tool to aid weight loss but it by no means is the answer on it's own. But if you follow your guidelines and work with the band it can bring great results. I'm 16 months post op now and as time passes I find it hard to remember just how limiting life was pre weight loss

Hi, i'm having my sleeve with mr sigurdsson at the start of feb...I don't know if you've met him at all but I found him really charming and cheerful where others have found him very matter of fact shall we say? I just wanted to say good luck and I'd be interested to see how you go with him! Where are you having it done? X

Hi... I didn't meet him unfortunately... I had my consultation with a different surgeon. That's really good to know... Helps put me a bit more at ease.... I'm having it done at Dolan Park... Will let you know ... All the best with your pre-op preparations

I'm banded woohoo!! Let the journey begin
Had a bit if a restless night last night as I kept thinking I'm going to tear my cuts open... Eventually managed to fall asleep propped up on pillows.

A bit sore today but moving around ok! Thank you for all your support...and yes... The staff at Dolan Park were amazing
