Hey I'm Rachel, been waiting for a gastric bypass for some time now, just starting to see things moving along after what seems like forever, I'm attending for my OGD this month and hopefully will be listed shortly after, Just wondered if anyone has any idea how long usually elapses between OGD and op day this is at Sunderland.

I've been with them 18 months and still waiting to see a surgeon!!!

I am new here too, I am having my op in north tyne general i started with a seminar in feb last year then nov last year he set me a goal of a stone to lose on returning in jan i had lost 2 stone so he was happy with that but requested i lose more but he did give me the date of my op at the review in jan , since then i have had a few appointments and a pre-assessment then started my pre-op diet yesterday ready for op a week wednesday!!

Hiya there's lots on here from the north east so hopefully you'll get loads of advice.
There's an amazing support network here too, I went along to my group session yesterday knowing so much about WLS just from what I've read/been told on here.

Well I've seen one of the surgical registrars and had hit my weightloss target, they said I'd have the OGD and hopefully have the op by the summer, not sure how vague summer was mind lol, not looking forward to the OGD, being a Gastro Nurse means I know far too much to be comfortable with the idea of a gastroscopy lol

Hi, I went onto the waitling list in Dec after having an endoscopy. I met with the surgeon in Nov to confirm I'd reached the weight loss target set by the dietician. So far, its been 5 months and I've been told it will be 6 months max so hoping to get a call any day now. Best of luck x

Well the gastroscopy went ok all apart from a hiatus hernia being found, I'm now listed for my bypass, so what's the waiting times like with Mr Small

hiya i'm also waiting for a bypass and i also have a hiatus hernia.I also am under mr small.Phoned the other day and was told there were 2 people infront of me for the next batch so hopefully the beginning of july sometime.My endoscopy was 21st dec,so its roughly 6 mths waiting list after that.
