Ok three weeks post op -8lbs. Feeling very frustrated and deflated.

I need to up my protein and lower my carbs. Somehow.

What meal ideas do you have?

What tips for increasing weight loss? Due my first fill in two weeks!

But utterly fed up!!! Xx

average loss is 1-2lbs a week so you're over that, have realistic expectations of the weight loss. A band is a longer term marathon, not a sprint and you're on track so focus on how well you ARE doing, also you're probably still on mushy/purée, wait til you get into proper foods making healthy choices and start having your fills, all combined it will see results, but you need to have realistic expectations of how the weight loss will be :)

hun ur doing realy well. u havent got anything in ur band yet have u? (I think im right). dont beet urself up. since my op ive only lost a little more than that and they put 4mls in mine. ur doing so well. just thing if u hadnt had ur op it may have been +8lbs. well it wud be for me. remember the tortoise and the hair story! x

Kirsty, I don't think I've lost anything since the week after the surgery, but I am comfortable about this as I too have no restriction. My bariatric nurse said this was normal and in fact not to be surprised if I've put a little weight on as I would be eating more than pre op diet. I'm hoping that with the slower weight loss I will not have too much loose skin, this may not be the case of course, plus I want to get used to the change in eating habits etc. I'm back walking the dogs but not going to the gym yet. I will give the incisions a little more chance the heal fully and seek more in depth advice when I go for my first fill, which has now been moved to 17th like you (evening appointment, then support group at the hospital - hope it does not snow as I'll be well miffed :-( the journey would either be a no go or a nightmare!). Don't pressure yourself, it will come off just give it time xxx

8lb off in 3 weeks Kirsty is good you should be pleased with that :). Have you started normal food yet if you have try sticking to chicken, fish, eggs and veg they are the ones I can think of atm that are high in protein low in carb. I have my first weigh tomorrow exactly a week after surgery.
