Hey all, I'm Bobbie from the UK. I'm new to this site but always been on Bariatric Pal. My date for the sleeve is on the 6th of October, My surgeon is Marco Adamo from UCLH. Monday coming. I'm so nervous, any advice would be totally welcome aha, Hope you're all well :)

My advice would be.. Take all the pain drugs you can get and rest afterwards. Don't over do it.

hello newbie
I agree with Mrs g90 take your meds if needed and do rest up and really listen to your body
good luck ,keep us updated

Good luck and take it easy..thankfully i didnt really have any pain or the dreaded wind but when you wake up after the op you will think oh god what have i done!!

Thank you everyone, taken all your advice on board. For me I'm mainly dreading the gas, I've heard it's really painful aha. But I'll definitely take medication when needed

My gas was really bad. So bad I was readmitted for morphine. I couldn't bear it. some people don't get it. I pray for you that you don't xx

I was supposed to have my sleeve back in June 2014 but they abandoned the op and just preformed a diagnostic laparoscopy. With the op the gas would go from manageable w/ a little discomfort in my shoulders to I'm about to cry, but I still handled it as the pain would fluctuate.

However, with my second op on 22nd Sept (I actually got the sleeve), I felt no gas pain at all. The pain was more from the sites and abdomen.

So I would say have an open mind; everyone is different. When you do have you op just get pain relief when you feel is necessary.

:)

I'm was really lucky with gas too. Mine felt like little butterfly bubbles! Everyone is different.

Just wanted to say hi and goodluck x

Been looking out for your post Bobbie! Welcome to the forum!! Good luck for Monday. Sip sip sip on your fluids, get up and walk when you're ready (this will also help the wind escape) and don't hold any wind in!! There's space waiting on the losers bench for you!! Xx

Good luck on Monday I had my op at the UCLH with Dr Jenkingson just over a month ago you will be fine they are both very good surgeons xx
