Hi :D

Welcome to the forum. Lots of info on here & everyone is so friendly. Have you discussed WLS with your GP. It's a good place to start especially given your age. Wish I was 18 agin & had the opportunity to have my sleeve. Just glad I've had it now. Good luck.

Keep insisting, I got to 30 stone before any one took notice! Went to see a dietician who told me she'd never come across any one my size!! Jump though their hoops but make sure you get what you need!

hi and welcome missy the criteria all depends on where you are in the country

Yea thankyou :) im 17 stone not sure what weight limit is for surgery on nhs?x
To get it on the NHS you need to reach certain criteria.
You will need to find out what patient care trust you are in. Your GP surgery will tell you. Then google them for their WLS criteria.
It is different depending on your area but you will need your BMI (body mass index) again google it & loads of calculators to help you. Good place to start.
Very generally to give you a bit if an idea a BMI of 50 or greater is the threshold but sometimes it is lower around 40. Then they take into account comorbidities e.g. Diabetes, sleep apnoea, high blood pressure etc. Many PCTs require a proven period of weight loss management & psychological assessment.
If going private then the criteria are different & of course you don't have to jump through all the NHS hoops.
Loads of stuff on this site so keep researching. It took me a long time & tons of research before I made my final decision.
