hi everyone its been long time since i have been on to talk to you all me and my husband have been fiting a new kitchen it looks so nice now lot better than before .
i doing ok but my only prob is i can eat more than they said i would for example for tea last night i had 5 spoonfuls of mash and a tea spoon of veg with some mince gravy and i eat it all i was ful after but not bursting is that normal and how is everyone elses eating .
i dont seem to be hungry during the day so i am having a little porridge and milk and yogurts but come tea time i am so hungry .
i have started on all my tabs now and they take some getting use to especially in a morn when you seem to feel at your yuckyist but i do feel like i have more energy and feel a lot more alive so the good does weigh out the bad .
where do all you girls go and do water arobics as my sister and daughter are on healthy eating and we all want to start doing some exercise and water arobics is suppose to be very good start anyway hope you all are doing fine hope to speak to you all soon x

good to hear from you ALi, glad you are doing well.

The only advice I would give to you re the food is to listen to your body. 5 teaspoons of mash really isnt that much (compared to what I can eat pre op) so if you are comfortable after your meal, and dont feel too full then I would say dont worry too much.

Good luck with finding somewhere for your water aerobics x

If your local leisure centre has a swimming pool they normally do it there, but other than that can't really help. Glad your well.

Speak to you soon.

Hi dont compare what you can eat with someone else. Try to eat a little more during the day and you wont get as hungry come tea time...its a tricky balancing act. When I first returned to work I did not take enough to get me through the day and came home starving but now have a happy balance...but like has already been said its not a lot and mash is a soft food they tend not to fill you as much as "hard" foods...xx

Hi
you are doing well
5 spoons is not much but if you think you are overeating at tea time i would say what the others are saying and try to eat a little more for breakfast and dinner.
You see I have not had my band yet but i will feel hungry and eat lots then feel sick as i have eaten too much too fast.
goodluck xx

Hi Alison, glad you are back. I have a couple of tips for you. If you go by the diet sheets given to you by the hospital, you should have 6 tiny meals per day when on purees so by eating a tiny amount every 2-3 or so hours you will feel fuller. Also make sure you wait at least half an hour after eating before you drink.

The second tip is to concentrate on protein. With six meals, you can get your six servings of protein in no problem. You said you ate 5 tbsps of mash and only one of meat & veg. Switch the order, eat your protein first and make it 50% of what you eat, then add veg or fruit, and last add carbs. The more carbs you eat, the more you crave and can lead you to earlier hunger because your body burns carbs first. After you have managed 6 meals (I did 4 'meals' with 2 protein snacks) for a bit then reduce to 4 slightly larger meals. By the time you are ready for normal foods, you can easily move to 3 melas with 1 snack because you will be used to it by then. Some days now I don't have a snack & I really never get actual hunger pains anymore, just a slight empty feeling.

Hopelesscase & I go to the leisure center in Radcliff for water aerobics on Monday at 11am. Many leisure centers that have pools have water aerobics. This one is called Aquafit. It is £2.80 per class. There are other days and times (some at night I think).
