Hi im natalie, just joined the site after googling and found ya, didnt know weither or not to post but thought wot the hell in start lets do it!
well i got refered by my docoter on 22nd june 2009 to have weightloss surgery and have my appointment to go on 6th august( really excited but really nervous too)
and im not sure what happens next and was wondering if anyone could give me info on what happens at this first appointment and what happens after that im going to the Whittington hospital and will be under either doctor Sufi or heath (i think) any info anyone can give would be sooooooo helpful and might help to calm me down too.
or if anyone has had op at this hospital to let me know what happens

I have PCT approval for funding and have my first appointement next Friday with and Endocronologist. I am unsure what will happen but I've started my journey and I'm really excited/nervous.

hi natalie welcome on board on my first appointment at hospital they just asked questions on things like wat id trid to do to lose weight and was i a all day snacker or did i eat regular and other health probs etc then made me an app. to see surgon . theres nothing to be woried about you will be fine. good luck on your journy and i hope its a short one .all the best kath

Hi Natalie - welcome to Minis. Congratulations on taking the first steps towards a new life. With the NHS it can seem like a long journey - but you'll get there. I was referred in January and I will be getting my op date in the next couple of weeks - so it could be end Aug or September (swine flu pandemic permitting). All hospitals differ in there procedures and time-scales, though. Good luck with your journey, Mxx
